George is a writer, director and independent filmmaker, working across narrative and commercial non-fiction.

A winner of the Ch4 RAW CUTS competition and graduate of the the Bristol Old Vic Young Writers Programme, George’s work has played in competition in festivals worldwide. His recent short, THE COST OF BRONZE, won Best Narrative Short at the Venice Fine Arts Film Festival 2020, and his documentary short MY GARDENS BOUNDARIES ARE THE HORIZON, a profile of Derek Jarman, is currently playing as part of the Garden Museum’s Jarman exhibition.

Alongside his narrative work George is the co-founder of Mountain Way Pictures, a small production company specialising in films for the arts, heritage and third sectors, and has taken him from Malawi to Sweden. Recent clients include the Royal Opera House, the Barbican Centre, the Royal Ballet, The Humane Society International, National Children’s Bureau, and the Garden Museum.

George is currently developing his first feature with BBC Script Editor Jory Dunworth-Warby, and his next short, SENTENCE STARTERS, is in pre-production with Oscar-winners Slick Films.
